November 7, 2009 Farewell Old Friend :: Last month the marinas first travel lift embarked on a short journey to Moriches. With the use of our Wiggins Marina Bull forklift, quick work was made of loading the travel lift on a barge fully assembled and sending it out of the Shinnecock area. Jackson's Marina acquired the 12-ton travel lift during the 1960's and over the course of the next 25 years it fulfilled a multitude of additional roles other then hauling boats. October 15, 2009 Autumn News :: The temperatures have begun to drop, leaves have begun to change- Autumn is clearly here. All of us from Jackson's Marina hope that you were able to get out on the water often and had a safe and enjoyable summer! Winter contracts will be sent out shortly to expedite the winter work season. Work will begin shortly on the Southeast end of Abes Cove where we will be doing some minor bulkheading over the course of the next few months. We are also selling Jackson's Marina decals, that can either be picked up by clicking the link to the left of the page or at the Ship Store. |

August 3, 2009 Happy August :: Although all of us in the Northeast experienced a cool and wet July, August has started off with some warm and sunny weather. May 17, 2009 Spring Time :: Spring is amongst us and along with the seasonal temperatures there has been plenty of rain. Despite the challenges associated with the weather engines are being summerized, bottoms are being painted and boats are being launched with all our lifts. If you’re in the area swing by grab a cup of coffee, check out the improvements made during the winter months and witness the hustle/bustle out in the yard! |

February 21, 2009 Winter Updates :: For the 2009 boating season Jackson’s Marina will have two new 12,000 gallon fuel tanks serving the purpose of the two existing 10,000 gallon tanks. The old fuel tanks have not been removed and will contain BioDiesel available for purchase this summer. Use the link above to view some of the photos from the project. Summer dockage contracts are now well past due, any customers who have not submitted summer dockage contracts to the marina office must do so now to guarantee a slip for the 2009 boating season. January 10, 2009 Happy New Year! :: With 2009 here and consistently low temperatures, Winter is officially here. The yard is full of boats and space is at a premium. Some space has been set aside near the Store to allow us to make some necessary upgrades to our fuel system over the next few months. With all the boats winterized the mechanical team can now focus on any additional work that was discovered during the Fall. The shrink-wrapping crew has been working diligently to wrap up the remaining boats for the winter.   ![]() |

December 16, 2008 Summer Dockage :: 2009 Summer Dockage contracts have now been mailed out to all current Jackson’s Marina customers. Please fill out and return the contract as soon as possible to secure a slip for this coming summer. December 1, 2008 Winter is in Sight :: Approximately 60% of those boats intending to stay at the marina for the winter months have been hauled. Fantastic weather has allowed the Shrink-wrapping Crew to stay on schedule. Boats that have been hauled have been winterized and wrapped for the winter. The Mechanical Crew is urging customers who haven’t given the green light to haul that they do so now. Temperatures are beginning to plummet and the need to winterize necessary systems is ever-increasing. |

November 5, 2008 Fall Update :: Despite a volatile economy we finished out a great summer season with a number of fish caught and some fantastic weather. Several newcomers were welcomed into the marina community and got to experience what Shinnecock Bay/Inlet and Peconic Bay have to offer for those seeking thrilling fishing and beautiful sunsets. A-Dock took on a new look during the early summer months. The dock was retrofitted to accommodate larger boats and ease the effort of docking during swift currents in Shinnecock Canal. |
